It is the product of extensive engineering know-how and on-the-job experience by the largest producer of flame spray equipment.

The taper valve used for many years on GMA gas heads has been replaced on the SPRAYJET-5MC with a new gas head cylinder valve. This new valve uses O-Rings to seal fuel gas, oxygen and air and to keep dirt out. It has eliminated the need for a precisely fitted, tapered plug for gas sealing. Some features of the new valve are :

Lubrication and maintenance are seldom require

Valve parts may be replaced by the customer. Taper valve lapping is no longer necessary.
Valve operation is smooth and uniform. Tendency for valve sticking and jamming has been designed out of the new valve.
The need for valve adjustment has been eliminated.
The standard machine is set up to spray 3/16” wire using acetylene as the fuel gas. It will handle all kinds and sizes of metallizing wires from 4.76 mm down to 1.6 mm dia.

The controlled speed range of the SPRAYJET-5MC with standard gears permits adjustment of the wire speed from about 9 inches (229 mm) per minute. A special, easily installed, high speed gear set is available for continuous spraying of the lower melting point metals such as aluminium and zinc. It provides a top speed of about 40 feet (12,192 mm) per minute. For production applications requiring continuous low speed operation, a special low speed set of gears is available. This gear set provides high torque at wire speeds between 6 inches & 9 ½ feet per minutes.

The totally enclosed electric drive motor is light, robust power source for feeding wire through the machine. The key to the power and light weight is the small amount of compressed air which flow through the motor. It is cooled and pressurized by clean compressed air to avoid contamination by metal dust and shop dirt.

The motor power supply is a self-contained transistorized unit with built-in speed control. Its small size permits direct mounting on the machine for convenient and easy adjustment of wire feed.

The new tool post mounting is easily adjustable and permits flame spraying from position. it is designed for convenient mounting on machine tools as well as for use with special work handling equipment.

Many outstanding design features are offered by the GMA SPRAYJET-5MC Flame Spray Gun. Some of these are described below :

An improved version of siphon-jet gas head provides high spray rates, low gas consumption and extreme resistance to backfire and backfire damage.

Nozzle-to-siphon plug seals are O-rings, instead of being lapped surfaces which are troublesome to maintain.
Improved nozzle and air cap design provides excellent coatings at very high spray speeds and without loading.
The wire nozzle, siphon plug and front wire guide assemble as a unit which can be quickly and easily removed and replaced when changing wire size, or for servicing.
The wire drive contains a built-in pump for circulating gear oil.
Hardened stainless steel drive rolls and wire guides are used for resistance to wear and corrosion.
The hose connections are widely spaced for easy hook-up of the air and fuel gas hoses.
Central location of the mounting stud simplified positioning of the flame spray machine when it is lathe mounted.
The base which routes air, fuel gas and oxygen from the fittings at the back of the SPRAYJET-5MC to the gas head, is a high-strength aluminium alloy forging which will provide trouble-free service for the life of the machine.
The motor power supply can be mounted on top of the flame spray machine for ease of adjustment and operation. it may also be located away from the machine, if required, by using a special extension cable.
A louvered door on the side of the machine covers the drive roll chamber. It is fitted with a spring latch for positive closing. The louvers aid in ventilating the drive roll chamber.
A Kit to convert to HVOF is also available to spray wire like any HVCW system.
Most of the metallizing dust, water and other products of combustion which may enter the drive roll chamber are removed through a drain hole in the base“ font_container=“tag:p|text_align:left“ google_fonts=“font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal“][/et_tab][/et_tabs][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=“Related Projects“ font_container=“tag:h2|text_align:center|color:%23022133″ google_fonts=“font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal“][mpc_carousel_posts rows=“1″ cols=“2″ gap=“0″ start_at=“1″ post_type=“page“ taxonomies=“410″ thumb_height=“300″ mpc_button__mpc_tooltip__border_divider=“true“ mpc_button__mpc_tooltip__padding_divider=“true“][/vc_column][/vc_row]
